Book NowSt. Regis Resort, Aspen Review
Fresh from a $40-million renovation, the Gothic-Victorian St. Regis has been reinvented as a 19th-century mountain manor. The redone lobby and library are very Gilded Age, with rich wood panels and large windows. The rooms come equipped with large leather-frame beds, sleek modern furniture and drapes and throws, along with a collection of contemporary and Western art. The bathrooms are equally elegant, with gray marble tile and polished silver fixtures, including towel warmers. The separate showers and baths are stocked with Remede toiletries. The Remede Spa has 15 treatment rooms and an oxygen lounge. Proud of its rituals, the St. Regis still offers Après Tea (custom hot chocolate is also available) and the daily offering of "The Downhill Snapper"—the hotel's proprietary Bloody Mary.

I am certain this has been my worse experience in a 5* hotel, and I spend 70% of my time on the road, so have way too many to compare with. The so-called One Bdrm Suite is more like a small Jr Suite - we had to take the coffe table out to accommodate a room service cart! The room service bkfst is not delivered on time, the sofa bed is not made, the bathromm is not cleaned at turn down. The only redeming fact of this place is the concierge service, which is the only thing deserving 5*
