Fodor's Review:
Today the town feels more like a bedroom community for Aspen workers; it's marred by the proliferation of strip malls, chain motels, and fast-food outlets. Remnants of her glory days can still be seen in the grand old Hotel Colorado, regally commanding the vaporous pools from a patrician distance. Modeled after the Villa de Medici in Italy, the property opened its doors in 1893. Teddy Roosevelt even made it his unofficial "Little White House" in 1905.
