Fodor's Review:
Many of Aspen's beautiful buildings were constructed in the 1880s, when the surrounding mines were overflowing with silver. Jerome Wheeler, one of the town's most prominent citizens, constructed the 1889 Hotel Jerome. Peek into the ornate lobby to get a sense of turn-of-the-20th-century living.
