Grant Grove Cabins

$-$$, Kings Canyon National Park

User Rating: **** 4.2

Fodor's Review:

Some of the wood-panel cabins here have heaters, electric lights, and private baths, but most have woodstoves, battery lamps, and shared baths. Those who don't mind roughing it might opt for the tent cabins. The Grant Grove Restaurant (-$$), a family-style coffee shop, serves American standards for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In winter, only the cabins that have private baths remain open.

We stayed in a duplex cabin. Very rustic & old but clean. Beds were comfortable & altho there were several families camping in & around, it was quiet in the evenings. Beautiful place to just sit & relax in the evening after a day of hiking. Prices in the restaurant are high but food & service was good. Rangers are extremely helpful & the informational talks were informative. The man who portrayed John Muir was excellent. We would & hope to go again & will stay in the cabins again.
