Hotels, Yosemite National Park
Fodor's Review:
Built in 1927, this stately lodge of granite and concrete beams stained to look like redwood is a perfect man-made complement to Yosemite's natural majesty. Even if you aren't a guest, take time to visit the immense parlors with walk-in hearths and priceless, antique Native American rugs and baskets. The dining room, its high ceiling interlaced with massive sugar-pine beams, is extraordinary. Dinner is formal; breakfast and lunch are more casual.
