Yosemite NP Travel Guide

Vast granite peaks and giant sequoias are among the mind-boggling natural wonders of the Southern Sierra, many of which are protected in three national parks. Yosemite, the state's most famous national park, is renowned for its staggering U-shape valleys and mile-high walls of granite formed during the Ice Age. Endowed with glacially carved valleys, deep canyons, and towering peaks and trees, Kings Canyon and Sequoia national parks abut each other and are easy to visit together. Outside the parks, pristine lakes, superb skiing, rolling hills, and small towns complete the picture of the Southern Sierra.
