No matter how tall you are, you could theoretically walk through the entire 100-foot length of this burned-out, fallen sequoia near the General Grant Tree. (In order to protect it, access to the log's interior is prohibited indefinitely.) Early explorers, cattle ranchers, and Native Americans used the log for shelter, and soldiers who began patrolling the area in the late 1880s used it to stable their horses.
