Buckeye Tree Lodge

Fodor's Review:

Every room at this two-story motel has a patio facing a sun-dappled grassy lawn, right on the banks of the Kaweah River. Accommodations are simple and well kept, and the lodge sits a mere quarter mile from the park gate. Book well in advance for the summer. The jointly owned Sequoia Village Inn, across the highway, was extensively renovated in 2006 and is another good option (559/561-3652); accommodation options there are cottages, cabins, and chalets. Pros: Scenic setting, clean, popular. Cons: Could use an update.
