Fodor's Review

This might be the only gas station in the United States that serves craft beers and lobster taquitos, but its appeal goes way beyond novelty. Everything on the inventive menu is well executed, from the succulent fish tacos with mango salsa to a generous portion of barbecued ribs served with a slightly sweet huckleberry glaze. A true "oasis"

With nothing but mountain road, desert highway, and sleepy towns for hours in each direction, the Mobil Mart is truly an oasis. An extensive regular menu (burgers and pizza, to lobster taquitos and buffalo meatloaf) is extended with a specials selection that grows each summer. Filet mignon with chipotle hollandaise and bacon-wrapped prawns? Wild game stew? Elk and lamb chops with spaghetti squash? Seared ahi sashimi? Key lime cheesecake? Watch

the tiny kitchen blast through 80-100 guest checks per hour, maintaining high quality and presentation while delivering food faster than many takeout joints. Stop by on summer weekends, grab a table outside, and watch live music while enjoying the extensive wine and beer selection. Find a campsite up the hill in advance to rest afterwards.
