Tioga Lodge Review

This lodge, across the highway from the lake, centers around a 19th-century building that has served as a store, a saloon, a tollbooth, and a boardinghouse. Surrounding the rustic lodge are modest, weathered-wood cottages tucked beneath towering cottonwoods on a grassy hillside. The simple, country-cute rooms have cozy furnishings that—thank heaven—manage not to be tacky. The nine-table Hammond Station Restaurant is quite pleasant.

    Tioga Lodge Review

This place has the worst customer service imaginable. Went to the office to check in, and waited and waited until being redirected to check in at the restaurant. (The manager is also the cook). When she couldn't find our registration, she showed us the screen with every guests' full name, phone number, and room #, asking if we had registered under a different name. (That has to be against some privacy law). It turns out, the registration dates had been messed up, and they had accidentally booked me for the day I had called to make the reservation (a month ago). Since we hadn't shown up for any of those 3 days, we were charged the full amount without even a courtesy phone call to see if there was a mistake. When we DID show up to claim our reservation, they were full and wouldn't help us. After pleading with them, they refused to give us EVEN a PARTIAL refund. They soaked us for nearly $400.
