Across the street from stylish Fashion Island, this 20-story tower caters to business types during the week and luxury seekers weekends. Guest rooms have private balconies (usually with outstanding views of the Newport Harbor and ocean beyond), marble bathrooms, and original art. The spa does its bit for luxury with aromatherapy massage. O.C. native David Man revamped the Palm Terrace menu, adding California favorites like fish tacos, short ribs, and flatbreads.

This not a resort Four Seasons, across from Fashion Island...but it is still the Four Seasons-and an exceptional hotel. When we checked out they adjusted our bill (without request by us) to a lower package price which gave us breakfast for free.
