The best aspect of this resort-style Newport hotel is its lushly landscaped acres: 26 of them, all overlooking the Back Bay. The casually elegant architecture, spread over the generous grounds, will appeal to travelers weary of high-rise hotels. Most rooms have patios or balconies. When booking your room, suite, or bungalow, let them know your preference of bay, golf course, garden, or pool views. There's a 9-hole golf course, 16 lighted tennis courts and water slides
by the pool. A hotel shuttle is available for John Wayne Airport rides and jaunts to nearby Balboa Island.

In Southern California, beauty is a way of life. The Hyatt Newport Beach is no exception. We were, however slightly disappointed that service does not always accompany that beauty. That said, the location is excellent, the grounds are well-laid out, and the rooms which are quaint in style are very well-maintained. Not a bad choice overall.
