Between Newport and Laguna in the Crystal Cove Promenade, chef and owner Rich Mead offers contemporary American cuisine in an expansive stainless-steel and glass setting, set off by a warm fireplace and garden area. The ever-changing menu, which has equal European and Asian influences, may include roasted duck breast with pomegranate syrup, swordfish with a pinot noir reduction and rib eye with green peppercorn sauce. The grilled beef fillet medallion with portobello mushrooms and Gorgonzola is recommended. Mead uses only the finest ingredients, which he sources from local farmers and fishermen.
