Huntington City Beach Review

Stretching for 3½ miles north and south of the pier from Bolsa Chica State Beach to Huntington State Beach on the south, Huntington City Beach is most crowded around the pier; amateur and professional surfers brave the waves daily on its north side. RV camping is permitted October through May. Fire pits, the numerous concession stands, dog beach area, and well-raked white sand make this a very popular beach come summertime. Amenities: food and drink; lifeguards; parking; showers; toilets. Best for: sunset; surfing; swimming; walking.

    A piece of paradise

I highly recommend a stroll down to the end of the Huntington Beach pier. It’s a great vantage point to check out all the surfers, see the ocean, and hopefully see some pelicans gliding by. At the end of the pier, stop and eat at Ruby’s Diner. Ruby’s has a pier-facing take-out window in case you want to quickly sample one of their amazing milkshakes. Around the corner is the entrance to the restaurant itself and the views are amazing, especially if you request a booth near the window. It's a great place to watch the sunset, or just enjoy another beautiful beach day.
