Fodor's Review

This 195-acre park with picnic areas and a long, sandy beach is an excellent whale-watching spot from December through April. Opposite the beach, along the Gualala River estuary, redwoods shade two dozen campsites. Dogs must be on a leash at all times throughout the park. Watch out for unpredictable sleeper waves, which are common along the North Coast.
