The North Coast: Places to Explore

Salt Point State Park

Enjoy dramatic views, forested acres, and a rocky, rugged shoreline along Highway 1’s 5-mile route through this park. With 20 miles of hiking trails and a variety of picnicking, horseback riding, scuba diving, and fishing opportunities, you’ll want to stay a while. At Fisk Mill Cove you’ll see where centuries of wind and rain erosion have carved unusual honeycomb patterns in the sandstone called "tafonis."
