Aided by her mother, Barbara, a former pastry chef at Chez Panisse, Franny turns out baked goods that are sophisticated and inventive. Take the coffee crunch cake: vanilla chiffon cake layered with coffee whipped cream, topped with chocolate ganache and puffs of coffee caramel "seafoam." More familiar options at this delightful spot include berry tarts and a strawberry-apricot crisp, plus a mouth-watering assortment of cookies, candy, jams, and jellies.
