Thornton Winery Review

In a rambling French Mediterranean-style stone building, you can taste winemaker David Vergari's bright Blanc de Noirs or Cuvee Rouge at a table in the lounge, or with lunch or dinner at Café Champagne. Readers rave about the Barbera, Cabernet Franc, and Mourvedre. On weekends, take a free tour of the grounds and the wine cave. Summer Champagne jazz concerts ($55-$95) featuring performers such as George Benson, Hiroshima, and David Benoit, and elaborate winemaker dinners ($120-$170) make this a fun place to spend an afternoon or evening.

    Simply Beautiful

A sprawling, welcoming place that will wow you. The wine is not as good as it used to be because they lost their master wine maker to South Coast. Still, a must visit place.
