Hart Family Winery Review
A perennial crowd-pleaser, this winery specializes in well-crafted red wines made by father-son winemakers Joe and Jim Hart. Joe, who started the winery in the 1970s with his wife, Nancy, focuses on growing grapes suited to the Temecula region's singular climate and soils—Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sangiovese as might be expected, but also little known varietals such as Aleatico, used in the winery's marvelous dessert wine. The reds are the stars, though, along with the amiable Hart family members themselves.
