If you want the relaxation of the wine country and the challenge of hitting the links on a championship golf course, this is the place for you. Each room has a private patio or balcony overlooking the course and is decorated in soothing earth tones with a Southwestern theme. The on-site restaurant, Temet Grill ($$$), serves regional fare and local wines. Try the marinated Colorado rack of lamb with mascarpone polenta or the herbed roasted chicken breast with warm basil vinaigrette drizzle.

This hotel is grossly overpriced and with terrible customer service. We paid over $500 for our 2 day stay and when we called to find the phone charger I left in the room, we were placed on hold for more than 30 minutes (while my battery was dying, no less!). When we asked for them to ship it, they asked for my credit card! When I protested, all they could offer was free ground shipping with no tracking. The hotel was definitely below average and NOT worth the money. Rooms were outdated and semi-clean at best.

My law firm had its retreat here--let's just say it got lots of complaints. The food was disgusting at every meal, two different lamps in my room were broken. The windshield of my car got cracked in their parking lot and they could not have been ruder. I am shocked to learn that they have the same owner as one of my favorite hotels--the Surf & Sand in Laguna Beach. They need to wake up and do something about this dump.
