Getting Here and Around

The drive to Lake Arrowhead can be one of the most beautiful in Southern California as Highway 18, called the Rim of the World, travels a mountainside ledge at 5,000-foot elevation revealing a fabulous city view. At the Lake Arrowhead turnoff, you descend into a wooded bowl surrounding the lake. The village is walkable, but hilly. Scenic Highway 173 winding along the east side of the lake offers scenic blue water views through the forest. (In winter, check for chain control on this route.)
