Fodor's Review

Even if you don't go inside, be sure to swing by this three-story former courthouse. Built in 1875, it's a striking example of Victorian Italianate style. The upper two floors contain a museum of early Merced history. Highlights include ornate restored courtrooms and an 1870 Chinese temple with carved redwood altars.
