Chef Christopher Manning, whose previous stops include the Napa Valley restaurant of sparkling-wine maker Domaine Chandon, brings French flair and finesse to this brick-walled downtown favorite. The menu might include seared scallops flavorfully matched with pork belly and served on creamy polenta; tender pan-roasted duck with braised fennel, pomegranate, and persimmon; and beef tenderloin with a Cabernet Sauvignon bordelaise. The wine list celebrates local wines. With many by the half-glass, you can sample a good cross-section.
