Luka's is a real taste of downtown Oakland: hip and urban, with an unpretentious vibe. Diners nibble on frites any Belgian would embrace and entrées like choucroute garni (sauerkraut with duck confit, ham hock, and pork shoulder). The brews draw 'em in, too—you'd be hard-pressed to find a larger selection of Belgian beer this side of the pond—and the DJs in the adjacent lounge keep the scene going late.
