Fodor's Review

Lakeside Park, which surrounds the north side of Lake Merritt, has several outdoor attractions, including a children's park. The Rotary Nature Center and Waterfowl Refuge is the nesting site of herons, egrets, geese, and ducks in spring and summer. Migrating birds pass through from September through February, and you can watch the birds being fed daily at 3:30 (year-round).
