The chefs at this chic restaurant tap local purveyors and shop for organic ingredients at farmers' markets before deciding on the day's menu. Depending on the season, you might feast on local squid with sweet baby prawns, rib-eye steak grilled over an oak fire and served with root vegetable gratin, or rhubarb and polenta upside-down cake. The well-informed wait staff can recommend regional wines from the restaurant's 1,800-bottle selection. Root 246's gorgeous design incorporates wood, stone, tempered glass, and leather elements in several distinct areas, including a slick 47-seat dining room, a more casual bar with sofas and chairs, and a hip lounge.
