Fodor's Review

The outdoor tables at this casual harborside restaurant have perfect views of the marina and mountains. Staffers serve enormous, exceptionally fresh fish dishes—don't miss the seafood salad and chowder—and provide guests with a pager if there's a long wait for a table. Stroll along the waterfront until the beep lets you know your table's ready. Hugely popular, Brophy Bros. can be crowded and loud, especially on weekend evenings.

As Close as You Can Get to the Marina Without Getting on a Boat

An upstairs establishment with a great view of the marina, provided you sit on the balcony. This is a casual place and popular. Food and service are good, prices are about right for location. Plenty of parking nearby if you are not on foot. Close to quite a few motel/ b&b-type establishments.

Something is fishy here

An excellent menu of creative seafood dishes in an informal, nautical environment.

Million Dollar View From The Terrace

We had dinner at Brophy's-we were lucky to get a table, this place was so packed. We got an undersized table outside on the terrace which was uncomfortable. However, the view I had of the sun setting over the Santa Inez Mountains and the city of Santa Barbara was breathtaking. The service was pleasant, if somewaht kinetic and hurried-but all of the food was great. I had Thresher Shark, with Beer Boiled Clams as an apetizer. A good value, I'd go back

the next time I'm in Santa Barbara.

A scene, and best for lunch

Brophy Bros. can be a real scene, in the good and bad senses of the word. It can be maddening on a weekend for dinner. Fodor's is right about having lunch here. The food is straightforward, slightly retro American seafood recipes. Stick with the grilled stuff and stay away from anything too elaborate.
