This sprawling uptown motel complex is less than 10 minutes from downtown and 5 minutes from the beach. Two outdoor pools, free day passes to the YMCA across the street, and spacious rooms make it a value-laden haven for families and extended-stay travelers. Pros: Great value, near public transportation, nice pool area. Cons: Located in a busy commercial area, not close to harbor and central tourist area, no frills
