The Brakey House

Fodor's Review:

Built circa 1890, this three-story Victorian sits on a steep hillside near the courthouse in the heart of the historic district. All seven individually themed rooms have private entrances, DVD players, pillow-top queen beds, and private baths; three have whirlpool tubs. When you rise for a traditional Bavarian breakfast in the breakfast room, you can also feast your eyes on a view of the ocean and offshore islands. Pros: Walking distance from downtown, ocean and city views, historic home. Cons: Steep uphill climb back from town, breakfast quality inconsistent, train whistles early morning.
