From this fully restored 1887 Italianate Queen Anne, the only lodging in downtown SLO, you can walk to many restaurants and attractions. The individually decorated rooms, each with private bath, are filled with antiques; some have stained-glass windows, fireplaces, and decks. Each evening, wine and hors d'oeuvres are served in the intimate dining room; there's also a lavish homemade breakfast when you rise. Pros: Classic B&B, walking distance from everywhere downtown, nice wine-and-cheese reception. Cons: City noise filters through some rooms, not a great place for families.
