The grain silos across the street and the floral oilcloths on the tables belie the sophisticated cuisine at this casual chop house. Housed in an 1860s building in the tiny cow town of Templeton (just south of Paso Robles), the restaurant serves creative, contemporary versions of traditional Western fare—such as oak-grilled filet mignon and cedar-planked salmon. House-label wines, made especially for McPhee's, are quite good.

Excellent food that never disappoints and they cater to families with kids too so you can enjoy great food & wine without the whine from the kids. We go out of our way to stop here every time we are remotely in the area. It's a must try.
