Bit O' Denmark

$-$$, Scandinavian, Solvang

User Rating: ***** 5.0

Fodor's Review:

Perhaps the most authentic Danish eatery in Solvang, this restaurant (the oldest food establishment in Solvang), occupies an old-beam building that was a church until 1929. Two specialties of the house are the Frikadeller (meatballs with pickled red cabbage, potatoes, and thick brown gravy) and the Medisterpølse (Danish beef and pork sausage with cabbage).

Excellent food, lovely experience

My wife and I had a wonderful meal at Bit O'Denmark. The roast duck was rich, not at all fatty and had intense duck flavor. I don't recall ever having better duck. The roast pork was also excellent; in fact, the quality of preparation came through on every item. They have a good beer and wine selection at quite reasonable prices. The building is lovely and the staff was efficient and pleasant. I highly recommend it.
