State Street

Fodor's Review:

State Street, roughly between Cabrillo Boulevard and Sola Street, is the commercial hub of Santa Barbara and a shopper's paradise. Chic malls, quirky storefronts, antiques emporia, elegant boutiques, and funky thrift shops abound here. Paseo Nuevo (700 and 800 blocks of State St.), an open-air mall anchored by chains such as Nordstrom and Macy's, also contains a few local institutions such as the children's clothier This Little Piggy. You can do your shopping on foot or by a battery-powered trolley (25) that runs between the waterfront and the 1300 block.
