Built in 1872, Stearns Wharf is Santa Barbara's most visited landmark. Expansive views of the mountains, cityscape, and harbor unfold from every vantage point on the three-block-long pier. Although it's a nice walk from the Cabrillo Boulevard parking areas, you can also park on the pier and then wander through the shops or stop for a meal at one of the wharf's restaurants.

I was impressed on a recent visit to the Ty Warner Sea Center in Santa Barbara. Its hands on activities are a great way to feel like a real scientist. Their summer shark exhibit features a shark touch tank which is a once in a lifetime experience. I would highly recommend visiting the Ty Warner Sea Center.

This is definitely a must-see for tourists planning to visit Santa Barbara. On a clear day, the views of the Channel Islands and the city and mountains of Santa Barbara are breathtaking. You will find the usual touristy shops (although with more of a maritime theme to them)here, but the sights, sounds and smells with captivate you. On an average day, seals, sea lions and dolphins can be spotted from the end of the wharf.
