Just south of Paso Robles in tiny Templeton, this casual chophouse in an 1860s wood-frame storefront serves sophisticated, contemporary versions of traditional Western fare such as oak-grilled filet mignon and cedar-planked salmon. The house-label wines, made especially for the restaurant, are quite good.

Excellent food that never disappoints and they cater to families with kids too so you can enjoy great food & wine without the whine from the kids. We go out of our way to stop here every time we are remotely in the area. It's a must try.
