Bicycling in Santa Barbara and the Central Coast

The level, two-lane, 3-mi Cabrillo Bike Lane passes the Santa Barbara Zoo, the Andree Clark Bird Refuge, beaches, and the harbor. There are restaurants along the way, and you can stop for a picnic along the palm-lined path looking out on the Pacific. Wheel Fun Rentals (23 E. Cabrillo Blvd. 805/966-2282) has bikes, quadricycles, and skates; a second outlet around the block rents small electric cars and scooters.
