Gott's Roadside Review
How many burger chains can claim a view of Coit Tower? And that's not even the biggest selling point—it's the house-made dressings tossed into the salads, the Mary's chicken buttermilk-dipped for tenders, the 5-oz. Ahi tuna burger topped with ginger-wasabi mayo, and Niman Ranch beef ground daily for burgers, nine to choose from. Started as a roadside stand in Napa, Gott's has made the concept of fast food pleasurable (though, technically, this isn't that fast; you order at the counter and 10 minutes later pick up your meal). Gleaming metal countertops and hand-lettered boards recall the prime burger era. If the weather is nice, the patio is great for people-watching on Embarcadero. And, sure, there's a Napa Cabernet by the glass.
