Fodor's Review:
In a matter of just weeks, Hawthorne Lane, one of the city's best-known upmarket eateries, became Two, an easier-on-the-purse, more casual spot, with a big concrete and copper bar, a large table with benches for communal dining, and plenty of comfy banquettes. The menu, put together by the same staff that made Hawthorne Lane a destination, matches the more relaxed ambience. Enjoy the heat from the spicy onion soup with a poached egg or the rich flavor of the devilishly good roasted marrowbones. Old-timers who remember the Hawthorne Lane bread basket as the best in town won't be disappointed -- the kitchen still bakes up those coveted Parker House rolls.
