Your entry point to this dramatic hotel is a spectacular 10-story, 29,000-square-foot lobby atrium for guests seeking more than the typical business-center ambience. Located 2 miles south of SFO, this is one of the largest airport convention hotels in Northern California. The services and amenities include hypoallergenic quarters, ergonomic workstations, and iHome docking stations. The hotel provides newly fitted computer workstations throughout, a 24-hour Stay Fit gym,

and jump-charge lockers for guest electronics. A free shuttle whisks guests to downtown Burlingame for shopping and dining, or to SFO, where you can catch BART to San Francisco. The in-house Knuckles Sports Bar, Cascades Lobby Bar, and Swiftwater Deli and Cafe provide food, cocktails, and caffeine fixes throughout the day.

What a Dump!

Terrible service uniformly delivered. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Westin. It should be called a Holiday Inn Express with this service model.

It's Cool

That's the demeanor of most of the staff we ran into on our one-night midweek stay. Fortunately we had stayed at several other hotels that had demonstrated that personnel CAN smile. On the other hand the facility was nice and staff was efficient. Had dinner there and the salmon was excellent. *shrug* Bought on Priceline at $50 +$18 parking, so value was fine.

Not really a traveller's hotel

The hotel doesn't pay enough attention to the needs of business/leisure travellers. Examples: 1 Rooms are good and in standard Hyatt format, so you know what you're getting. But, be careful which room you get. Many face directly on to US 101 and are noisy. You've just arrived from Tokyo and want to get some sleep? The window glazing doesn't seem totally effective. 2 Except for the Sports Bar, the restaurants are closed by 10pm. If your flight

arrived in the evening (as many from the East Coast do), bad luck. Which leads you to point 3 ... 3 No 24 hour room service (in an airport hotel!) Not helpful for travellers (and mixed up stomachs) arriving at all hours from around the world. The room service is good, although there is an 18% charge (OK, but higher than what I understand to be a standard tip in the US - it "includes" a gratuity - what else is included??) and a separate $2.50 "delivery charge" 4 Reception neither sells postage stamps, nor offers to take care of this service for you. Instead you are directed to a machine with very limited options outside the gift shop. Even if you have all the coins you need (and when did that last happen to you??) this is useless for international mail. 5 The gift shop is very poorly stocked with newspapers and magazines and has limited hours.

Okay, service could be better

The hotel is quite nice for an airport hotel. The front desk staff, however, really needs some training. While I patiently stood waiting to check in the staff stood chatting and then they all tried to leave to go on "break". I had to ask for one to check me in rather than going with the rest of the group. This is unacceptable.
