Golden Gate Hotel Review

Families looking for accommodations in the Union Square area will delight in this homey, family-run B&B. Built in 1913, the four-story Edwardian building has front and back bay windows and an original "birdcage" elevator that transports you to hallways lined with nostalgic historical photographs. Freshly painted and carpeted guest rooms are decorated with antiques, wicker pieces, and Laura Ashley bedding and curtains. Only fourteen rooms have private baths, some with claw-foot tubs. Sit in the cozy parlor by the fire and savor afternoon tea and homemade cookies.

Loved our 4 day stay. The staff was wonderful and the room was spotless. The location is convenient to Union Square shopping and Chinatown. Bed linens were pure cotton and a very comfortable bed. Loved the bowl of Jelly Bellies too!
