Hotel Diva Review

Entering this hotel requires stepping over footprints, handprints, and autographs embedded in the sidewalk by visiting stars; with two major theaters, the Curran and the American Conservatory Theater, just across the street, this hotel has long been a magnet for actors, musicians, writers, and artists. It's undoubtedly a hip place, and the $2 million renovation in 2012 ensures that the guest rooms, especially the suites, are as urban and modern as the hotel's clientele. The splashy exterior is freshly painted in a commanding black and white. New designer carpets complement brushed-steel industrial headboards that echo the shape of ocean waves. Crisp white sheets highlighted by a purple throw, and Harry Bertoia chairs add another dose of eye candy. Window shades evoke the hotel's sexy chic with silhouettes of stiletto-heeled legs and a lingerie-clad model's torso. In true Diva fashion, these teasing images can be viewed from the street below. Bathrooms are tiny but equipped with eco-friendly bath products. Kids will appreciate the colorful Little Divas Suites decked out in vibrant bedding and stocked with toys, Wii, and a karaoke machine. A Starbucks and Colibri Mexican Bistro are just off the lobby.
