Book NowHotel Del Sol Review
Go tropical in the Marina District at this colorfully restored three-story 1950s motor lodge. The hotel's proximity to Funston Playground, the Walt Disney Museum, the Predisio, Crissy Field, and Chestnut Street's munchkin-favored shops make this place kid-friendly, as do free toys, games, DVDs, and evening cookies and milk. Since the Del Sol is only two blocks from Union Street shopping and restaurants, with easy access off Lombard Street, it will please adults, too. The hotel offers free morning town-car service to the Financial District for business travelers.
2010 Fodor's 100 Hotel Award Winner
In addition to the outdoor heated swimming pool and video-rental service offering child-friendly flicks, this bright and cheerful boutique hotel has lots of kid-friendly touches like free beach balls and sunglasses, a nearby playground, and freshly baked cookies in the afternoon. Parents appreciate the moderately priced room, summer barbecues, and ideal location near Union Street.

Great price - especially for San Fran ($103 for 2 double beds - which was an Expedia rate that they honored). Nice, quiet, safe neighborhood. I was originally concerned that this would be too far off the beaten path for us, but a two block walk to the #30 bus took us to Fisherman's Wharf in 10 minutes. The room was clean and cheerful. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. Free continental breakfast was much better than other hotels' I've experienced. Plus, free parking! A great value - I definitely recommend it.
