If you see a clutch of people gathered around what looks like a garage in Hayes Valley, chances are you've stumbled upon Blue Bottle Coffee, a tiny stand selling what many claim is the best organic coffee on the planet. The "artisanal microroasting" philosophy says that all coffee should be brewed within 24 hours of roasting, and yes, they are Very Serious. Pick up a delicious sweet here, too.
