Tucked away in a small exhibit space on the third floor, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) Historical Society Museum presents rotating multimedia exhibits on themes such as the Gay Olympics, Harvey Milk, and, in 2008, GLBT military service. Though perhaps not for the faint of heart (those offended by photos of lustily frolicking naked people may, well, be offended), this thoughtful display offers an inside look at these communities so integral to the fabric of San Francisco life. The upstairs location and tiny space mean you may well be the only visitor; a helpful docent from the GLBT Historical Society's office next door will gladly show you around and answer any questions.
