Bank of America Building

  • Address: 555 California St., bordered by Pine, Montgomery, and Kearny Sts., Financial District, San Francisco, CA | Map It

Fodor's Review:

The 52-story building of polished red granite and marble takes up nearly an entire downtown block. A massive, abstract, black-granite sculpture designed by the Japanese artist Masayuki Nagare, at the corner of the complex at Kearny and California streets, has been dubbed the Banker's Heart by local wags.

On top of the Bank of America Building is the Carnelian Room (415/433-7500), a chic cocktail lounge and restaurant with a view of the city and the bay.
