Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market

Fodor's Review:

The most upscale and expensive of the city's farmers' markets, in front of the restored Ferry Building, places baked goods and fancy pots of jam alongside organic basil and heirloom tomatoes. The Saturday market is the grandest, with about 100 vendors packed both in front of and behind the building. The Tuesday and Thursday markets are smaller. At the Sunday garden market, vegetable and ornamental plants crop up next to a small selection of food items. (The Thursday and Sunday markets don't operate in winter, generally December or January through March.) On Saturday, don't miss the coffee at Blue Bottle—and yes, the line is worth it.

  • Open: Tues. and Sun. 10-2, Thurs. 4-8, Sat. 8-2
