Fodor's Review

At this primo location across from Dolores Park, Korean-American food emerges from the kitchen in surprising ways—sometimes sprinkled with Japanese elements, often with a bit of kitsch, and always using fresh ingredients from their farm. Indonesian-style mie ayam handmade noodles are in an aromatic chicken broth with fried garlic. The gamja fries reinvent poutine, with kimchi relish, chili paste, Japanese mayo, teriyaki sauce, and short ribs. Delicate items are plentiful, too, like shiitake dumplings. The shave ice with coconut milk and crumbled Oreos is a refreshing closer. Most seats are bar-style, lined up in neat rows facing 18th Street. Waits can be long, but the host will text you when a table is ready. Also, during happy hour, a kids' menu is available.
