Fodor's Review

This small, très Parisian establishment has long been a favorite of Francophiles. The restaurant, outfitted in warm woods, copper tones, and white linens, is smartly designed to let chef-owner Roland Passot's whimsical cuisine take center stage. Passot is often seen greeting return customers (and welcoming new ones). Choose from well-apportioned prix-fixe menus of three, four, or five courses ($80, $90, and $100, respectively). The dishes, such as butter-poached

lobster with truffle beurre fondue and spiced pepita salad, or the rôti of squab and quail wrapped in crisp and thin potato, are artfully presented and delicious. Vegetarians will be happy to discover a menu of their own ($90). Such rarefied preparation is costly, of course, so you may want to save La Folie for a special occasion. Everyone will enjoy the complimentary petit fours that arrive at the end of the meal. (La Folie Lounge just next door has cocktails and small plates on the menu—you can also order à la carte off La Folie's menu.)
