Fodor's Review

Years ago, this popular—and popularly priced—restaurant was uprooted from a scruffy block of Broadway in North Beach to a smaller Van Ness address and added "Palace" to its name; but everything else—authentic Afghan cooking and a handsomely outfitted dining room—has been preserved. lamb rack with sautéed eggplant and rice served on Afghan flat bread. Basmati rice pudding, perfumed with cardamom and pistachio, is an exotic finish.
