Japanese specialties are the stars at this sleek, modern (though somewhat stuffy) dining room in the St. Regis. While the menu offers French and American dishes, skip to the well loved chawan mushi (egg custard) with sea urchin, mushrooms, and lobster, and the sake-marinated black cod with shrimp dumplings. The sashimi bar is a particular delight, so be sure to sample. Co-owner and pastry chef Lissa Doumani handles the sweet portions, like molten chocolate bread pudding with caramel popcorn ice cream.
